Why America’s growth depends on an expanding workforce

In his latest Wall Street Journal op-ed, Velocity Founder, Sol Trujillo, warns that America’s economic growth depends on a growing workforce — and that mass deportations put that growth at risk.

Last year alone, 675,000 immigrants were removed from industries critical to our economy, from manufacturing to energy infrastructure, leaving millions of jobs unfilled.

Deportations also raise costs for Americans, slow hiring, and reduce consumer spending. Meanwhile, ICE funding continues to rise, even as immigrant households contribute tens of billions in taxes.

“As a businessman, a taxpayer and an American with roots in this country that go back more than 400 years, I want to see us keep growing as we have for the past 250 years. I believe the vast majority of Americans feel the same way.” – Sol Trujillo
