Julian Cañete

Julian Cañete is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) and its Foundation. The CHCC is a leading advocate for small businesses throughout California, representing over 130 Hispanic and diverse chambers of commerce and business associations. Collectively, the CHCC represents 1.8 million diverse small businesses across the state, promoting economic growth and fostering sustainable prosperity that benefits California’s economy and communities.

Julian previously served as the Vice President for Public Policy and Strategic Partnerships at the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. He resumed his role as President and CEO of the CHCC in August 2017, first serving in this capacity from 1999 to 2006 and again from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to his leadership roles, Julian is actively involved in several organizations. He serves on the boards of multiple entities, including the Northeast Community Federal Credit Union, the California Department of General Services Small Business Council, and the CalTrans Small Business Council. He has also been a member of the California Association of Micro-Enterprise Organizations (CAMEO), a member of the SBDC Northern California Network Advisory Board, and Vice Chair of the CalVet Fund Foundation. Julian was a founding member of the California Utilities Diversity Council and has held the position of Chairman for T-Mobile’s California External Council.
