Jorge Martel

Jorge Martel leads T-Mobile Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, overseeing all operations including Engineering, Retail, Customer Care, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain. With full P&L accountability, Puerto Rico operates as a financial unit—serving 1.8 million customers, approx. 900 team members, and one of the fastest growing markets generating over $1B in annual revenue.

Under his leadership, T-Mobile Puerto Rico has become the market share leader in both consumer and wireless business, consistently recognized for excellence. The network has been ranked by Opensignal as having the highest 5G availability in the world, and Ookla named it the Best Mobile Network in Puerto Rico. The team has also been honored as one of Puerto Rico’s Top Employers nine times.

Beyond business results, Jorge has championed community impact and innovation. He guided recovery efforts after Hurricane Maria, ensuring employee safety while restoring service in record time. He also led the landmark naming rights partnership for Distrito T-Mobile, the company’s 4th venue of its kind. His contributions earned him the 2018 CEO Peak Award.

A Boston College graduate with a degree in Economics, Jorge lives in Puerto Rico with his wife Juliana and daughters Bianca and Anabella. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking and is a music junkie.
