Jaime Guzman

Jaime Guzman is the Director, Social & Community Impact, Los Angeles at Nike. Jaime leads community partnerships and investments in Los Angeles, powering the future of youth sport. Previously, Jaime led Nike’s social and community impact work in Chicago. Jaime has also served as the Deputy Director for Chicago Youth Opportunity Programs at the Obama Foundation where he led the strategy, design and implementation of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative in Chicago, President Obama’s initiative focused on building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color where they feel valued and have clear pathways to opportunity. Prior to this role, Jaime led place-based initiatives in various cities as the Director of Local Programs at the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance. 

Jaime has also held senior roles at various social impact, public sector, and nonprofit institutions, including as the Taproot Foundation’s Executive Director, Senior Director for Outreach at the Big Shoulders Fund, Chief Advisor to the Board of Trustees of the City Colleges of Chicago, on the senior leadership team at the Chicago Public Schools, the Midwest Regional Director for Education for UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), and as a regional Program Director of Teach For America. Jaime has been a bilingual teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, and began his career as a Teach For America corps member in New Jersey. 

Jaime has also served his community as a civic leader, serving as a 2012 Leadership Greater Chicago fellow, and subsequently appointed by Chicago’s Mayor to serve as Vice President of the Chicago Public Schools Board of Education and by Illinois’ Governor to serve as Secretary of the Illinois State Board of Education. Jaime holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
