Ramón Rodríguez

A dynamic and multi-hyphenate artist, Ramón Rodríguez has built a distinguished career  across film and television. He currently stars in the title role and serves as executive  producer of ABC’s hit drama Will Trent, based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novels.  Now in its fourth season, the series has garnered Ramón nominations from the Critics  Choice, Independent Spirit, and Imagen Awards for Best Actor in a Drama, along with the  Critics Choice Association’s Breakthrough Actor in Television award for Will Trent.

On the feature side, Ramón recently starred opposite Viola Davis in Amazon/MRC’s  action thriller G20. His past film credits include Disney’s The One and Only Ivan with  Bryan Cranston, John R. Leonetti’s horror film Lullaby, and standout performances in  major action features such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Tony Scott’s The  Taking of Pelham 123 alongside Denzel Washington, Battle: Los Angeles, DreamWorks’  Need for Speed opposite Aaron Paul and Rami Malek, and Jordan Roberts’ Burn Your  Maps with Vera Farmiga, which premiered at TIFF.

On television, Ramón has demonstrated his range in acclaimed series such as HBO’s The  Wire, Showtime’s The Affair, Marvel’s Iron Fist and The Defenders, and Fox’s Gang  Related. Through his production company, Altura Productions, he continues to develop  and produce new projects under his deal with 20th Television.

Expanding beyond acting and producing, Ramón made his filmmaking debut with the  short The Language of Ball, which screened at over 30 festivals, was licensed by Topic,  and later distributed on Amazon. He has since directed the season three and four  premieres of Will Trent and is preparing his narrative feature directorial debut, co-written  with Rosie Perez, in which he will also star. Passionate about using his platform for impact, Ramón has championed relief efforts for  his native Puerto Rico. He directed the short documentary Pa’lante, which helped raise  more than one million dollars in disaster recovery funds and amplified awareness of the  island’s ongoing challenges.
